About Me

Having emigrated from England in 1996, Sharan is currently working as Realtor with Royal LePage Top Producers. Her excellent people skills and communications are contributors to her success.

Sharan is a very active member of East Indian Community of Winnipeg. She regularly participates in events such Folklorama and Asian Heritage Day. She is on the board of directors for the Punjab Foundation of Manitoba. Sharan has served on the Board of Directors of India Association of Manitoba and the Singh Sabha Gurudwara. She is also a member of The India Canada Culture & Heritage Association (ICCHA) and the Hindu Society of Manitoba.


Sharan is considered as a rising high profile woman of East Indian origin. She is a sponsor of many cultural events and shows and a tireless and active fundraiser and campaigner for the Punjab Foundation of Manitoba, India Canada Cultural and Heritage Association and the Friends of the Human Rights Museum. Of even greater pride for her is her effort and support for Osborne House (a safe haven for abused women and children) for whom she has also raised funds- the Women’s Shelter Foundation. Her community activities have been recognized by being interviewed by Sikh Virsa and Diya on OMNI TV station


Sharan Tappia is married to Dr. Paramjit Singh (Professor at University of Manitoba) who is also very much active in the community. He is secretary of ICCHA and on the board of directors of Dakota community centre. Sharan is also blessed with two beautiful children– Sohni Tappia (daughter-18yrs) and Sonil Tappia (son-15yrs).


Sharan has made Winnipeg her home and is very proud to be a Manitoban & Canadian. She is driven by the satisfaction that she attains by helping and serving people.
